This “disclaimer” used to be on the original vinyl records. Never understood it by the way “stereo records can be played”, of course you can play them on mono reproducers. Whether it gives a satisfying sound quality is the real issue. In the light of the reissue of Dylan albums in mono, I really wonder: were we misled all the time? I mean i have Dylan LP’s in mono, stereo and even quadraphonic (desire), CD’s in stereo, remasters, super audio and now mono. And I do agree that the mono mix is great. But why did we buy all the other stuff?
